Changing your email address, and the emails we send
Changing your address. Enter the new address in Settings → Sign in and we email a confirmation link to the address on your account now — not to the new one. Nothing changes until you open it.
It goes to the old address on purpose. If somebody else ever got into your account, that one step stops them moving it out of your reach, because the link lands in an inbox they do not have.
Once you have opened it, we send a second link to the new address. Confirm that one too — until you do, you cannot sign in by email link at the new address.
The emails we send. Sign-in and activation links, password resets, notice that your address has changed, and notice that your account is closing. That is the whole list, and there is nothing else to switch off: each one is either something you asked for or something you need to be told.
If mail to your address starts bouncing we stop sending to it and say so in Settings → Sign in, because sign-in links are sent there too. Change it to an address that works and you are back in.
